Building

Why does the building look so big and nice?

The building was designed to be more than a food and clothing help building, it is also an income generating and community building. There will be a clothing store that will sell many items for $1.00 - “I bought it for a buck at Project Help” will be the theme of the store. There will also be a community room where factories and groups can come for their meetings, thus creating an income from donations to use the room. The building was designed to not only help those who need Project Help but also to appeal to those who support Project Help. The building was designed after the land was given to Project Help - we wanted it to fit into and enhance the neighborhood.

The contractors are Aaron and Leroy Steury. They have pulled in every good will dollar they and their dad had in the community to make this happen. Almost everyone who has worked on the building or supplied materials has given huge discounts or free labor or donated materials. The contractors are concentrating on the outside of the building first so, it may all look done, but there is lots to do on the inside.

Knowing we had only one opportunity to build a new Project Help Community Building we built as large of a building as our lot would allow and still meet parking lot zoning requirements. Project Help is the type of ministry that will expand to the space allotted for it. We made room for future growth of the ministry.

Why didn’t we buy an empty factory and use it?

We shopped for an empty factory. The price for all of them was equal to or more than the cost of the new building plus we would have had to remodel it to make it fit our use. We would actually have more money in a remodeled factory than we have in the new building plus the factory would have been harder to heat. Every contractor we talked to encouraged us to build new if we could.

Thank you for your generous support!
