Why does Project Help have an endowment?

Several reasons:

We were encouraged to do this by certain donors and foundations. There were people and organizations who wanted to give to this and an endowment was established in 2009.

An endowment secures the viability and sustainability of Project Help for years to come. It will be used for building upkeep, utilities, and staff salaries. All other funds Project Help receives through United Way, garage sales, donations, churches, and other normal avenues throughout the year can be used to expand direct services to the under-resourced of Steuben County.

Project Help’s endowment is $18,000.00 as of January 1, 2016. Since the endowment was established, Project Help has received over $32,000 thru our endowment and giving through the community foundation.

The endowment is provided through the Steuben County Community Foundation. Those wishing to give to the endowment should do so through the foundation.
